Intermediate Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years’ accounting experience in New Zealand, with a strong understanding of local tax and compliance requirements.

The role goes beyond routine day-to-day accounting entries and involves more in-depth accounting work at an intermediate level, with a strong focus on financial data review, account reconciliations, analysis, adjustments and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

·         Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with New Zealand accounting standards

·         Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

·         Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations

· Prepare GST, PAYE and KiwiSaver returns

· Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with New Zealand employment legislation and payroll regulations.

·         Assist with monthly and annual financial reports

·         Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

·         Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and IRD as required

About you:

·         Minimum 3 years’ accounting experience in New Zealand (essential)

·         Fluent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese Mandarin

·         Solid knowledge of NZ tax regulations

·         Hands-on experience with Xero and MYOB

·         Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

·         Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
