Intermediate Accountants (Two Positions)

Petone | $70,000 - $85,000 + Benefits | Friday Half Days

The Role
You'll manage your own portfolio of clients while delivering a mix of compliance, advisory, and relationship management services.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing financial statements, income tax returns, and GST returns
• Providing management reporting and meaningful commercial insights
• Assisting clients with tax planning and compliance requirements
• Preparing cashflow forecasts and advisory projects
• Attending client meetings and building long-term relationships
• Identifying value-add opportunities within your client base
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members
• Working closely with senior leaders on business advisory initiatives

This is a role for someone who enjoys getting in front of clients, asking questions, solving problems, and contributing beyond traditional accounting work.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings both technical capability and strong people skills.
You'll likely have:

• 2+ years' experience in a New Zealand CA or public practice environment
• Progress toward CAANZ or CPA qualifications, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong understanding of financial statements, tax, and GST
• Experience managing deadlines across multiple clients
• A proactive approach to client service
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A genuine interest in advisory and helping clients achieve better business outcomes
