Intermediate BAS Accountant

We are a growing, forward-thinking chartered accountancy firm based in Blockhouse Bay, Auckland. We are focus on delivering quality business advisory and tax services to small and medium enterprises. We require services of an Intermediate Accountant to manage a diverse client portfolio and support senior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of financial statements, workpapers and tax returns in Xero
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Complete GST, FBT, and income tax computations.
• Manage Client's weekly, fortnightly or monthly Payroll
• Some Advisory work
• Manage direct client communication and queries
• Process year-end adjustments and general ledger reconciliations.
• Independently managing time and work with minimal supervision
• Assist senior accountants with business advisory projects.

What We Are Looking For:

• 2 to 4 years of experience in a New Zealand accounting practice.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Actively studying towards or completed CA/CPA qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Xero and modern cloud accounting tools.
• Clear communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
• Attention to detail and accuracy
