We are seeking an organized, detail-driven Intermediate Bookkeeper to manage end-to-end bookkeeping operations for an Australian client. Starting onsite during daytime business hours-with an option to transition to a remote work-from-home setup after 3 months based on performance-you will report to the Practice Manager and take full ownership of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, bank/balance sheet reconciliations, and ATO statutory compliance.

Your Impact

• End-to-End AP & AR Management: Process supplier invoices, coordinate payment runs, reconcile vendor statements, issue customer invoices, allocate receipts, and actively manage debtor follow-ups and aging.
• Reconciliations & Ledger Integrity: Execute bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet account reconciliations, maintain chart of accounts integrity, and record authorized journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
• Payroll & Statutory Obligations: Process end-to-end payroll across regular pay cycles, maintain employee records, calculate PAYG withholding and superannuation, and file Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports.
• GST & BAS Compliance: Prepare BAS/IAS working papers and supporting reconciliations in compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations and statutory deadlines.
• Month-End & Year-End Support: Complete month-end reconciliations, review P&L accounts, compile year-end working paper packages, and liaise with external accountants and auditors.

What You Bring

• The Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in an end-to-end bookkeeping role supporting Australian accounting operations.
• Education & Credentials: Degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping.
• Technical Mastery: Working proficiency in cloud accounting platforms such as Xero , MYOB , or QuickBooks , alongside strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Core Competencies: Solid understanding of Australian GST, BAS, STP, superannuation, and PAYG requirements; high numerical accuracy and attention to detail; excellent time management; and clear English communication skills.
