Intermediate IT Operations Engineer

Position Overview

As an Intermediate IT Operations Engineer at Redmap, you will support and enhance both Redmap’s internal technology environment and customer-facing platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of AWS infrastructure, endpoint devices, Microsoft 365 services, and operational systems.

Working closely with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams, you’ll help deliver scalable solutions, improve operational efficiency, support incident response, and maintain a secure and productive technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Platform Operations

• Support and maintain AWS infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, databases, and access management.
• Manage cloud platform operations, deployments, configuration changes, patching, and performance optimisation.
• Contribute to automation, operational improvements, and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Maintain secure cloud environments through appropriate controls, monitoring, and governance practices.

Endpoint & Workplace Technology

• Manage endpoint devices across Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms using Microsoft Intune.
• Support device provisioning, application deployment, compliance management, patching, and lifecycle processes.
• Troubleshoot endpoint and workplace technology issues impacting users.
• Implement and maintain endpoint security controls and best practices.

Identity & Systems Administration

• Administer Microsoft 365 services including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Manage user access, licensing, identity security controls, and authentication policies.
• Support internal IT systems, business applications, and integrations.
• Assist with compliance, access reviews, and security initiatives.

Application & Operational Support

• Provide timely and effective technical support to internal employees.
• Support Redmap customer systems and their integrations in collaboration with Associate and Senior team members.
• Investigate and resolve application, infrastructure, and operational issues.
• Analyse monitoring and log data to identify risks, incidents, and improvement opportunities.
• Implement system changes while ensuring reliability, security, and minimal business impact.

Monitoring, Security & Service Delivery

• Monitor system health, performance, and availability using tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, and Microsoft Defender.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience initiatives.
• Document systems, procedures, and support processes.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver technology improvements and provide operational support.

Requirements

Essential

• Experience supporting AWS infrastructure and services.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Entra ID environments, with sound knowledge of identity, endpoint, and cloud security best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management, including supporting Windows and/or macOS devices in a business environment.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms, and familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting tools.
• Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills.

Desirable

• Experience with Azure services.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and experience with CI/CD platforms and deployment tooling.
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as ISO27001 or Essential Eight.
