What they need
About the role
We're looking for an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our in-house construction team, working closely with our development team across a range of residential construction projects. This is a hands-on construction role, with regular involvement on site. You will also be required to travel to projects throughout New Zealand, including some exciting projects outside your home region.
Key responsibilities
- Cost planning, procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations, forecasting and project cost control
- Work closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, subcontractors and consultants
- Identify opportunities to improve cost and value
About you
- 4+ years' QS experience, ideally within residential construction or development
- Relevant university qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of construction costs and NZS 3910 contracts
- Experience with tendering, procurement and subcontractor management
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider construction team
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- Willingness to travel throughout New Zealand
