Intermediate/ Senior Level Fire Engineer / Fire Designer

CoveKinloch New Zealand Ltd is a long-established Fire Engineering and Building Consultancy practice based in Parnell, Auckland, with an office in Wellington.

We are a small-sized business with 14 staff, 4 of which form our fire engineering team, led by Senior Associate, Dallen Chan. This team, building on a 20 + year legacy, is continuing to grow steadily delivering quality services and forming solid relationships with repeat clients.

We deliver a wide range of fire engineering related services – Acceptable Solution, Alternative Design, VM Design and consulting roles.

We are seeking to employ an intermediate/senior level fire engineer in a full-time, or part-time, or contracting position based in Auckland.

Key Responsibilities:

·         General Fire Engineering Consulting

·         Lead author of acceptable solution fire designs

·         Site visits & client meetings

·         Support senior with alternative design and VM projects

·          Peer reviewing of colleagues’ work and vice versa

·         Travel out of town and overnight on occasion

About you:

·         The successful candidate will have formal fire engineering related qualifications

·         Someone who will be comfortable in client-facing roles

·         Experience and success negotiating with external stakeholders such as Council, FENZ, peer reviewer, and the client on complex projects.

·         Chartered Fire Engineer is ideal but not required.

·         Producer Statement Author on C-clauses is ideal but not required.

·         A confident communicator

Role details:

·         Based in Parnell Auckland with some flexibility to work from home

·         Support provided by fire engineering colleagues and others in the office
