Vicki Ammundsen Trust Law (VATL) is a boutique law firm specialising in all aspects of trust law including the resolution of disputes involving trusts, estates and relationship property. We provide general legal services including asset and estate planning, family and relationship property advice, conveyancing, and managing and administering trusts. In addition to a focus on trust disputes, our litigation team provides advice and acts in disputes involving claims in contract, tort and property and other general civil and commercial litigation.

Vicki Ammundsen is recognised nationally as an industry leader in trust law, having authored legal texts and numerous articles relating to trust law, and regularly delivering papers and seminars on trust related topics.

Based in Auckland CBD, we are a close-knit team of practical thinkers known for providing excellent service, careful and accurate advice, and client focussed solutions.

About the role:

We are looking for an intermediate to senior-level solicitor to join us at our offices in Auckland. The work will be interesting and varied, offering plenty of professional development and learning opportunities. You will work alongside both our trusts and estates and litigation teams, acting as a go-between as necessary.

Our ideal candidate has:

·         at least 3 years’ PQE and a current practising certificate

·         trusts and estates experience

·         some litigation experience or an interest to move into this area of practice

·         exceptional time management and communication skills

·         good clear drafting and writing skills

·         is used to working in a non-paper based environment

·         a collaborative, team-focused mindset.

Experience in litigation is preferred but not essential – an interest in contentious trust matters and litigation is a bonus. Senior and experienced practitioners will also be considered for the role.
