Duties

• Coordinate and dispatch intermodal freight shipments using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse teams, and clients via multi-line phone systems and internal communication channels to facilitate smooth operations.
• Monitor GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
• Manage shipping and receiving schedules, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation for all freight movements.
• Handle phone call management with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while providing exceptional customer service.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements within road transportation operations and logistics workflows.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, DOT regulations, and internal policies related to fleet management and freight handling.

Requirements

• Proven experience in intermodal dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment.
• Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS tracking systems, transportation planning, and road transportation operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with experience using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or vehicle dispatch software.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for internal coordination and external customer interactions via phone calls and written correspondence.
• Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes, fleet management practices, and freight documentation procedures.
• Ability to analyze operational data for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to vehicle dispatching and freight safety standards.
