We're kicking off recruitment for our Summer Intern Programme!

BLIS is a Dunedin-based biotech company working in advanced oral probiotics. For more than 25 years, we have pioneered advanced scientific probiotic research and have patented three probiotic strains: BLIS K12®, BLIS M18® and BLIS Q24® across Ears, Nose and Throat Health, Immune Health, Dental Health and Skin Health. BLIS Technologies are the creators of the world’s first advanced mouth and throat probiotics.

And we have two fixed term positions available for 10 weeks of work over the summer holiday period!

We're looking for someone who is practical and has demonstrated laboratory excellence. Candidates should be currently studying or have recently completed a degree in microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, pharmacy, biotechnology or a related field, at any level from undergraduate through to PhD.

What matters most is solid aseptic technique and genuine care with sterile work. Beyond that experience in any of the following would be valuable: culture and viability quantification, antimicrobial assays, barrier-function work, or analytical characterisation of metabolites. Good record-keeping and the discipline to run proper controls is essential.
