Intern-IT (Operations Center)

Job Requirements We are looking for passionate interns to join our exciting, challenging, and rapidly expanding team in Sri Lanka. This position is a hands-on intern position where you will be working with the Operations Center Team for our Client’s internal applications.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Understanding and getting hands-on training for Proactive and Reactive monitoring of 1500+ applications & assistance with escalation and troubleshooting.
• Participate in Major incident discussions with support teams and incident management teams understanding the process related to ITSM and further assisting to support where possible on tasks.
• Learn, and take part in innovations & development of Automation software / In-house tools to support the operations and reduce the workload.
• Learn advances and research new technological opportunities.

Required Skills

• An undergraduate from a recognized university reading for a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or any other related discipline
• Willingness to work in a roster-based working environment
• Self-paced or hands-on Windows / Linux Server environments such as basic installations/commands/ and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Self-paced or hands-on experience in Virtualization (VirtualBox, ESXi, EC2)
• Knowledge of Linux / Unix and basic scripting with bash, Perl, or python
• Knowledge of OOP concepts
• Knowledge of basic networking
• Knowledge of database concepts and SQL statement generation
• Excellent communication skills along with problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of cloud-based environments such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
• Knowledge of languages such as PHP, Node, and Java will be an added advantage
