Intern - Maintenance Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Routine Maintenance

• Plan and execute scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, technical issues, and emergency maintenance requirements.
• Supervise contractors, engineers, technicians, and other technical staff to ensure efficient work execution.
• Identify and procure specialist components, fixtures, fittings, and maintenance materials.
• Develop and implement standard maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment faults, breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Allocate daily tasks, prepare shift schedules, and provide technical guidance to the maintenance team.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), while ensuring compliance with applicable electrical codes and company standards.
• Diagnose major equipment failures and coordinate timely troubleshooting and corrective actions to minimize system downtime.

Project Management

• Assist the Facility Manager in planning and executing technical and facility-related projects.
• Take ownership of project activities and responsibilities in the absence of the Facility Manager.
• Monitor and control the inward and outward movement of project materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Coordinate on-site activities with project teams, contractors, vendors, and technical personnel.
• Inspect completed work, conduct quality checks, and ensure execution complies with approved specifications and standards.
• Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Inventory Management

• Monitor daily deliveries, shipments, inventory levels, and material consumption.
• Analyze historical usage patterns and seasonal requirements to forecast future material needs.
• Raise purchase orders and coordinate replenishment of essential supplies to prevent stockout and excessive inventory.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
• Maintain accurate inventory documentation and ensure proper storage and availability of critical maintenance materials.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• 01 year of experience in maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, or facility operations; freshers may also be considered.
