Intern (Purchasing / Procurement, 4-6 months)

Position Title: Purchasing Intern

Department: Purchasing / Procurement

Reports To: Purchasing Executive / Procurement Manager

Role Overview

The Purchasing Intern will work closely with the procurement team to handle daily purchasing requisitions, supplier communications, price negotiations, and inventory order tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Order Processing: Assist in creating, reviewing, and tracking Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) in the system.
• Sourcing & RFQs: Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to suppliers, compile comparative pricing quotes, and evaluate supplier lead times and payment terms.
• Supplier Liaison: Follow up with local and overseas suppliers regarding order confirmations, delivery schedules, and shipping status.
• Document Reconciliation: Verify Purchase Orders against Delivery Orders (DO), Goods Received Notes (GRN), and supplier invoices to resolve price or quantity discrepancies.
• Vendor Database Management: Help update approved vendor lists (AVL), maintain vendor evaluation records, and file contract documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Pursuing or completed a Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail when working with order quantities and pricing.
• Good negotiation and interpersonal skills for vendor interactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data lookup, formulas) and exposure to ERP software (e.g., SAP, Odoo) is a plus.

Pay: RM1,000.00 per month
