INTERN QUANTITY SURVEYOR

About the role

We are seeking an Intern Quantity Surveyor to join our team at ANJUNG IMPIAN DEVELOPMENT . This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in the surveying and construction industry whilst working on dynamic projects in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. This is a full-time position that will provide you with invaluable hands-on experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and project management. You will work alongside experienced professionals who are committed to mentoring the next generation of surveyors and helping you develop the technical and professional skills required for a successful career in this sector.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting in the preparation of bills of quantities and cost estimates for construction projects
• Conducting site visits to measure and inspect construction work and materials
• Supporting the valuation of completed work and the processing of interim payment certificates
• Gathering and analysing cost data and market prices for construction materials and labour
• Assisting in the preparation of tender documents and contract cost analysis
• Maintaining and organising project cost records and documentation
• Supporting quantity surveyors in the management of project budgets and financial reporting
• Contributing to the identification and evaluation of cost-saving opportunities on projects
• Liaising with contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to obtain pricing and specification information
• Participating in meetings and site inspections to support project delivery

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled on or recently completed a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for cost analysis and data management
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with various stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
• Keen interest in the construction industry and a commitment to professional development
• Basic understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation principles
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Willingness to visit construction sites and adapt to varying working conditions
• Professional approach to work with a commitment to health and safety standards
