Description Software Engineering Intern The Waldinger Corporation | Information Technology About The Role The Waldinger Corporation is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern to join our Software Engineering team. You will work closely with the Manager of Software Engineering and senior team members to help design, build, and support the software solutions that serve our business users. This internship offers hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle, from requirements through testing and release, in a collaborative and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in designing and developing software solutions that meet the needs of business users, working from provided requirements and documentation.
• Help maintain and enhance existing applications, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support the development of integrations with third-party solutions and gain exposure to evaluating vendor products.
• Write clean, maintainable code and learn source control and CI/CD practices with Git.
• Participate in quality assurance testing and support end-user testing of new or modified programs.
• Provide time estimates and regular status updates on assigned tasks.
• Document requirements, issues, resolutions, and solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues with mentorship from senior team members.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their needs.

Reporting Relationship

• This position is part of the Information Technology organization.
• Reports to the Manager of Software Engineering.

What You Bring

• Current student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in software engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• Coursework or experience in at least one programming language, and an interest in building software.
• Willingness to develop skills in application development, databases, Git, CI/CD, and cloud technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Tenacity, critical thinking, and resourcefulness, with a track record of digging into problems, figuring things out independently, and working through obstacles to a solution.
• Coursework or project work in software development, such as web, mobile, or database applications.
• Familiarity with SQL, APIs, cloud platforms, or software testing.
