What they need

Knight Automotive Group is a family-owned and family-centric company built on integrity, accountability, and care for one another. For over 17 years, we’ve proudly served our communities by providing end-to-end automotive solutions — from sales and service to fleet and upfitting — all under one roof. Our success starts with our people. We believe in creating an environment where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow.

At Knight Automotive Group, we live by our Core Values: being accountable and taking great care of each other, always doing the right thing, focusing on our guests with empathy and helpfulness, staying respectful, genuine, and fun (“the sun, not the salt”), and never being satisfied — always striving for improvement and excellence. Together, we’re building a culture that wins through teamwork, continuous growth, and a shared commitment to doing things the right way.

The Internal Service Advisor is the dedicated point of contact for managing the repair and reconditioning of Knight Automotive Group's own used car inventory. Rather than working with outside customers, this role partners directly with our sales, service, and lot teams to ensure every pre-owned vehicle is inspected, repaired, and retail-ready as efficiently as possible. You'll keep the process moving, the communication clear, and the standards high.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary advisor for all internal used vehicle repair and reconditioning work orders.
  • Coordinate with technicians and shop management to prioritize and schedule internal vehicles efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle walkarounds and document all required repairs, maintenance, and cosmetic needs.
  • Track work order status and communicate progress updates to the used car and sales teams.
  • Review technician recommendations and obtain approvals for repair costs within established guidelines.
  • Ensure reconditioning meets Knight Automotive Group's quality and safety standards before vehicles go to the lot.
  • Partner with vendors and parts teams to source materials and manage turnaround times.
  • Maintain accurate records of costs, labor, and completed work for each vehicle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reconditioning workflows and reduce time-to-lot.
  • Uphold Knight Automotive Group's Core Values — accountability, integrity, teamwork, and respect — in every team interaction.

What We Offer

  • Competitive and performance-driven pay structure
  • Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off (PTO), holidays, bereavement, maternity/paternity leave
  • Employee discounts on vehicles, parts, and service
  • Paid online and offsite hands-on training for continued professional development
  • Opportunities for career advancement within a growing, family-owned automotive group
  • A supportive, family-oriented culture built on teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Prior experience in automotive service advising, service writing, or dealership operations preferred.
  • Professional, courteous, and team-focused demeanor.
  • Strong ability to follow processes, manage multiple work orders, and prioritize effectively.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and take pride in the quality and presentation of every vehicle.
  • Comfortable operating a wide range of vehicle types (cars, trucks, vans, etc.) as needed on the lot.
