Internal Audit Analyst, Intern/Contractor (12-month fixed-term)

Join a small, international team covering a wide range of Corporate & Investment Banking activities across Asia. You'll gain hands-on exposure to different businesses, processes, risks and governance matters, contribute to real audit assignments and explore practical opportunities to improve how we work, including through data analytics and AI.

We are looking for a bright, resourceful and intellectually curious junior professional who enjoys solving problems, learning new things and taking initiative. You don't need specific previous banking or audit experience. What matters most is your potential: the ability to think critically, communicate clearly, learn quickly, adapt to new challenges and deliver quality work.

The Role

Based in Hong Kong, you will support the team reviewing BBVA’s CIB activities across Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei, Shanghai and Tokyo. Working closely with experienced Audit Managers, you will help execute and document audit work, assist with operational follow-up and participate in selected analysis and process-improvement initiatives. You will receive guidance and feedback while progressively building an understanding of different banking activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Management Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics or related disciplines; a master's degree is an advantage.
• Some previous professional exposure, through internships or initial work experience , preferably in banking, consulting or other business-related environments. No prior audit experience is necessary.
• Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity and problem-solving skills , with the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar topics and approach challenges with common sense and initiative.
• Excellent written and spoken English , with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different stakeholders.
• Fluency in spoken Cantonese and Mandarin.
• Previous exposure to international or multicultural environments is highly valued, together with an open-minded attitude and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• An interest in technology and new ways of working ; familiarity with data analytics, automation, Python or AI tools is a plus.

Contract and future opportunities

12-month fixed-term contract, with potential for future permanent employment subject to individual performance and headcount availability.
