Internal Audit Associate

About the role

Assurance Partners LLP is seeking an Internal Audit Associate to join our audit team on a full-time basis. This role is fundamental to our organisation's governance framework, providing essential audit support and assurance across our operations. As an Internal Audit Associate, you will play a key part in identifying risks, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and maintaining the integrity of our internal control environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your audit expertise within a growing and dynamic organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Provide a wide range of audit services including internal audits, corporate governance, certifications, and other risk and internal controls related services
• Plan and execute such audit activities
• Prepare clear and concise reports on observation and recommendations to auditees
• Follow-up on corrective actions taken to address the observations and prepare summary status reports
• Assist in other aspects of audit functions including admin tasks
• Cultivate an engaging work environment that promotes a shared commitment to excellence for achieving the Firm’s quality; client service, people and financial objectives

What we're looking for

1. Degree qualification in Accounting, Audit or a related discipline
2. Professional audit qualification or active pursuit of a professional audit credential (such as CA, CPA, CIA, CISA, ACCA or equivalent)
3. Sound understanding of internal audit principles, practices and standards, including the International Professional Practice Framework (IPPF)
4. Knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management methodologies and governance structures
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and identify audit issues
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate audit findings clearly to diverse audiences
7. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in audit work
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with audit software or data analytics tools is advantageous
9. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
10. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple audit projects simultaneously
11. Integrity, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
