We are seeking an Internal Audit Manager to support the Director of Internal Audit across SOX testing, SOX readiness, governance, process improvement, and emerging AI-related initiatives.

This role is focused on building structure and governance around key initiatives, rather than owning the day-to-day SOX programs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in ambiguous, cross-functional environments and can translate loosely defined objectives into clear processes, documentation, templates, tracking mechanisms, and governance frameworks.

The role will also support AI initiatives within Internal Audit, including organizing pilots, evaluating use cases, coordinating with stakeholders, and helping establish appropriate governance and responsible-use practices.

Key Responsibilities

SOX Structure & Governance

  • Partner with Internal Audit leadership to identify high-priority initiatives requiring improved structure, processes, or governance.
  • Design intake, prioritization, tracking, and workflow processes for SOX readiness initiatives.
  • Support readiness reviews for new system implementations, product launches, and significant business changes.
  • Develop reusable templates, checklists, RACI frameworks, control impact assessments, and go-live readiness checkpoints.
  • Establish lightweight reporting and status-update processes to provide visibility to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Document processes, decisions, and governance structures to ensure consistency and repeatability.

AI Initiatives

  • Organize and track Internal Audit AI pilots, tools, and use cases.
  • Support the development of governance processes for the responsible use of AI in audit activities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on AI-related initiatives.
  • Document findings, evaluations, and recommendations for Internal Audit leadership.
  • Help assess and prioritize AI initiatives based on business value, feasibility, and risk considerations.

General & Ad Hoc Initiatives

  • Support new and emerging initiatives as business priorities evolve.
  • Bring a structure-first approach to loosely defined projects by identifying objectives, developing processes, and documenting outcomes.
  • Conduct research and prepare materials for leadership discussions and key business decisions.
  • Provide project and organizational support to the Director of Internal Audit.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Finance Transformation, Internal Audit, and SOX teams.
  • Gather stakeholder input and facilitate alignment on new processes and governance structures.
  • Prepare status reports, process documentation, summaries, and leadership materials.
  • Track open items, follow-ups, risks, and potential delays, escalating issues as appropriate.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify gaps and inconsistencies across existing processes and recommend practical improvements.
  • Pilot new processes, templates, and governance frameworks before broader implementation.
  • Gather feedback and continuously refine processes to improve effectiveness and consistency.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Internal Audit, SOX compliance, risk & controls, program/project management, or a Chief of Staff role supporting Audit, Finance, or Compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience building processes and structure from the ground up in ambiguous or cross-functional environments.
  • Experience managing multiple initiatives across structured and less-defined workstreams.
  • Familiarity with SOX, COSO, internal controls, and risk management.
  • Direct SOX testing experience is a plus, but strong governance/process design experience may also be considered.
  • Exposure to AI tools, AI use cases, or AI governance is a plus.
  • Experience with GRC platforms such as Archer, Optro, or similar workflow/project tracking tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including process documentation and leadership-level reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to manage a focused portfolio of initiatives without requiring day-to-day ownership of larger programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
