Internal Audit Officer

Internal Auditor – International Bank (3- 5 years' experience)

Our client offers a great opportunity for an internal auditor with around 3-5 years of prior audit experience, to join them in an international team in a highly renowned bank in the heart of Luxembourg.

We are looking for an Internal Audit Officer with some experience of audit in a banking environment, to join this stable Internal Audit team. You'll be involved in all areas of risk management, governance and operational control locally and also internationally across Europe.

You will work with highly experienced colleagues, applying your experience to assess the risks and work with a good degree of autonomy from the outset, albeit with support.

You will be involved in the oversight of the day-to-day functions for auditing the risk associated to all areas of the bank (including corporate banking such as corporate finance, syndicated lending, capital markets,) etc.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Developing a robust and disciplined approach to risk management and operational control, supporting the execution of the internal audit plan
• Conducting internal audits over various banking activities using appropriate risk based audit methodologies; identify areas at risk, undertake testing, present your findings/draft reports
• Make meaningful audit recommendations to the CIA and/or Department Heads, aimed at operational improvements to help the business flourish in a compliant way
• Ensure adherence to best practice, standards and procedures of the company in all audit operations
• Work closely with the Risk Management and Compliance departments, developing strong working relationships with other areas of the business
• Potential travel to other locations in Europe to assist with local internal audits

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• 3-5 years’ audit experience, ideally gained in banking and/or with relevant financial or credit risk experience
• You must be prepared to work from the office full time (the client can be flexible around appointments, but prefers a collegiate in-office workforce)
• You will be fluent in English and fully comfortable in an international English speaking environment.
• Any ‘control’ qualification would be advantageous (e.g. CIA, CISA, CAMS, etc.)
