INTERNAL AUDIT OFFICER– OPERATIONS / COST ANALYST ENGINEER (OPERATIONS)

About the role

This dual-function role combines technical site operational auditing with rigorous cost, variance, and yield analysis across a group of companies. Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), the Internal Audit Officer – Operations / Cost Analyst (Operations) will serve as an experienced Civil Engineer specializing in operational auditing and cost analysis across general construction contracting, concrete batching plant operations, heavy equipment/fleet rentals, aggregate trading, and commercial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document comprehensive technical and operational audits across all active project sites and operating facilities
• Audit site execution workflows, structural compliance, equipment utilization logs, and procurement processes against approved plans, estimates, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Conduct site inspections to verify physical accomplishments against billings and progress reports, identifying site non-compliance and control vulnerabilities
• Perform detailed material variance, yield, and batching consumption analysis (e.g., actual vs. estimated cement, aggregates, fuel, and raw material utilization)
• Analyze equipment rental yields, fuel efficiency, maintenance vs. downtime costs, and unit operational costs for fleet operations
• Evaluate project-level direct costs, labor productivity, subcontract costs, and overhead expenditures against approved project baselines and budgets
• Identify sources of material leakage, site wastage, equipment underutilization, and budget overruns, recommending immediate cost-containment measures
• Lead operational quality and cost-control audits in coordination with department heads to ensure strict adherence to ISO 9001:2015 QMS guidelines, engineering specifications, and statutory regulations
• Recommend actionable Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to mitigate operational risks and optimize cost structures
• Prepare objective, data-driven audit reports and cost variance analyses presented directly to the CFO, President, and Executive Committee (EXECOM)
• Track and re-audit the implementation of approved corrective action plans across all field sites and plant facilities

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Civil Engineer preferred
• Minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated experience as an Audit Engineer, Technical Internal Auditor, Site Cost Analyst, or Project Controls Engineer in the construction and heavy industry sectors
• Extensive hands-on operational and financial knowledge across multi-entity setups—specifically general construction contracting, concrete batching plant operations, heavy equipment/fleet rentals, and aggregate trading
• Advanced proficiency in material estimation verification, unit rate analysis, project cost variance tracking, inventory audit, and ISO 9001:2015 internal quality auditing principles
