About the role

Caritas Manila Inc. is seeking an Internal Audit Staff to join our organisation on a full-time basis. Based in Pandacan, Manila City, Metro Manila, this position plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations and internal control systems. As an Internal Audit Staff, you will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes throughout the organisation. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements whilst supporting the organisation's strategic objectives.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting internal audit assignments and examinations of financial records, operational processes, and system controls
• Developing audit programmes and testing plans to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls
• Evaluating compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
• Identifying risks and control weaknesses, and recommending improvements to enhance operational efficiency
• Documenting audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations in clear and comprehensive audit reports
• Following up on management actions and ensuring that recommendations are implemented appropriately
• Preparing working papers and maintaining detailed records of audit work performed
• Assisting in the planning and execution of internal audit projects and special investigations as required
• Collaborating with internal departments and external auditors to ensure effective communication and coordination
• Staying informed of developments in audit techniques, industry practices, and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and internal audit procedures
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex financial transactions and processes
• Proficiency in using audit software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear audit reports and present findings to management
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in audit work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a professional environment
• Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or equivalent qualification is preferred
• Previous experience in internal audit, risk management, or accounting roles is advantageous
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the organisation's sector
