INTERNAL AUDITOR

About the role

The Internal Auditor is responsible for ensuring all assets of the club are properly managed and that business transactions follow consistently, establish accounting procedures and internal controls. The Internal Auditor is responsible for developing, leading, and executing a comprehensive risk-based audit strategy across all sectors of the golf and country club operations. This role ensures financial integrity, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and robust asset protection across diverse revenue centers, including membership services, food & beverage, turf management, and retail.

Key responsibilities

• Audit membership billing, initiation fees, monthly dues, green fees, tournament revenues, and Member Account charge systems
• Audit vendor contracts and capital expenditures relating to golf course maintenance, heavy agronomy equipment, and clubhouse facilities
• Formulate and execute the annual internal audit plan utilizing risk-assessment frameworks
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems and recommend corrective actions to mitigate fraud risks
• Audit front-desk cash handling, POS system logs, and digital payment reconciliations across all club outlets
• Prepare concise, evidence-backed audit reports outlining findings, risks, and actionable remediation steps
• Present comprehensive audit findings directly to Senior Management and the Board's Audit Committee
• Ensure club policies align with local taxation laws, labor standards, environmental compliance for turf chemicals, and data privacy codes
• Oversee day to day activities and develop and execute comprehensive audit program for the effectiveness of management controls
• Conduct special audits at the request of management

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related business field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is highly preferred
• 5+ years of progressive experience in internal/external auditing, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
• Direct experience in the golf, country club, hospitality, or resort sector is a major advantage
• Proficiency with ERP systems and specialized club management/POS software (e.g., Clubessential, Jonas Club Software, SAP)
