Internal Auditor

Role & responsibilities

• Review daily accounting transactions, ledgers, journals, sales, purchases, receipts and payments for accuracy and compliance.
• Manage month-end & year-end closing, including accruals, provisions, depreciation, FX adjustments and reconciliations.
• Prepare/review financial statements, MIS, management reports and variance analysis.
• Monitor accounts receivable, payable, collections, supplier reconciliations and customer/supplier ageing.
• Reconcile inventory, warehouse records and stock movements; review landed cost, stock valuation and physical stock variances.
• Review cash, bank, treasury and foreign-currency transactions and ensure timely bank reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, withholding tax and other statutory/tax requirements; support audits and regulatory reviews.
• Maintain fixed assets, prepayments, advances, intercompany and other balance-sheet accounts.
• Strengthen accounting controls, ERP processes, documentation and maker-checker procedures.
• Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Warehouse and Finance teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of Accounting, Financial Reporting, Reconciliations, Tax and Internal Controls.
• Experience in ERP/accounting systems, preferably within trading, construction materials, manufacturing or distribution.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently under closing deadlines.
• Tanzania experience / knowledge of TRA compliance will be an advantage.
