INTERNAL AUDITOR

JOB TITLE: INTERNAL AUDITOR

ROLE SUMMARY: The Internal Auditor is responsible for providing independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of Huiospay's governance, risk management, internal control, and operational processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and implement risk-based internal audit plans and programmes that align with Huiospay's strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and identified business risks.

2. Conduct operational, financial, information technology (IT), compliance, and process audits to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability of the organization's systems and controls.

3. Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control frameworks and governance processes, providing practical recommendations to strengthen operational efficiency and risk management.

4. Assess compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including CBN guidelines, AML/CFT regulations, NDPC requirements, and other relevant laws, policies, and internal procedures.

5. Audit digital payment operations, transaction processing, settlement activities, reconciliations, and other critical operational processes to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance with established standards.

6. Investigate suspected fraud, financial irregularities, policy violations, control weaknesses, and operational incidents, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

7. Monitor and follow up on the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues and continuous improvement of internal controls.

8. Prepare comprehensive audit reports, findings, and recommendations for Management and the Board Audit Committee, highlighting key risks, control deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

9. Provide support during regulatory examinations, external audits, and compliance reviews by coordinating audit activities and supplying relevant documentation and information.

10. Identify and assess operational, financial, technology, cybersecurity, and compliance risks, and recommend effective mitigation strategies to protect the organization's assets and reputation.

11. Promote a strong culture of ethics, accountability, risk awareness, and internal control throughout the organization by providing guidance and advisory support to management and staff.

12. Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential audit working papers and documentation in accordance with professional auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and internal audit policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.

2. Professional certification such as ACA (ICAN), ACCA, CIA, CISA, or an equivalent qualification is required. Possession of multiple relevant certifications will be an added advantage.

3. Minimum 5 years' audit experience in fintech, banking, or financial services.
