Internal Auditor

We are looking for an Internal Auditor to plan and conduct audits that help assess and strengthen the company’s risk management, internal control and governance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of a risk-based annual audit plan.
• Review financial and operational processes for compliance with applicable legislation, company procedures and established control principles.
• Plan and conduct department- and process-based audits, carry out fieldwork and report the results.
• Perform control and verification procedures on accounting records, financial statements, operational reports and supporting documentation.
• Assess transactions for compliance, timely execution and recording, accuracy, completeness, valuation, efficiency, economy, and the proper recognition of rights and obligations.
• Test declarations, documents, records and other audit evidence using sampling techniques.
• Review reconciliation processes for accounts and balances between company departments and external parties, including customers, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders.
• Identify internal control deficiencies, process risks and areas for improvement.
• Report audit findings clearly, objectively and based on sufficient evidence.
• Monitor the timely completion of agreed actions and report their outcomes to the relevant management.
• Conduct independent reviews of matters requiring special attention, including operations, quality, occupational health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct confidential investigations into suspected or reported fraud.
• Contribute to the development of internal audit methodologies, control mechanisms and reporting processes.
• Conduct on-site audits at different company locations and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• At least seven years of experience in internal audit, external audit, internal control or risk management.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and financial control.
• Experience in field audits covering manufacturing and logistics operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of internal audit standards, corporate governance and the Three Lines Model.
• Working knowledge of key employment, tax, commercial and customs legislation.
• Experience assessing ethical violations, conflicts of interest and fraud risks.
• Ability to analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances and anomalies.
• Knowledge of process analysis, project management, workflow design and improvement methods.
• Familiarity with process management, internal controls, segregation of duties, performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare reports using ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, questioning, reporting and presentation skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality, objectivity and professional ethics.
• Valid driver’s license and active driving experience.
• Professional certifications in internal audit, accounting, risk management or fraud examination are an asset.
• Based on Istanbul’s European side or able to commute to our Head Office.
