Internal Auditor

About the role

To support the Group's internal audit function by conducting risk-based audits, assessing key controls and providing objective assurance on the effectiveness of operational, compliance and governance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Execute risk-based internal audits based on the approved audit plan and defined scope.
• Identify and assess key risks and key controls within audited processes.
• Perform walkthroughs, sampling and testing to assess whether key controls are appropriately implemented and operating effectively.
• Identify control gaps, root causes and improvement opportunities based on sufficient audit evidence.
• Prepare clear audit findings and discuss agreed corrective actions with relevant process owners.
• Monitor outstanding audit actions and verify supporting evidence prior to closure.
• Maintain audit working papers and support reporting to Management and the Audit Committee, where required.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Internal Audit or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in internal audit, operational audit, compliance or risk management.
• Good understanding of internal controls, risk assessment and audit methodology.
• Strong analytical, communication and report-writing skills with the ability to challenge processes constructively.
• Professional certification such as CIA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, automotive, manufacturing or other operationally intensive industries is an added advantage.
