What they need

SCHSA is seeking an experienced, highly independent, and results-oriented Internal Auditor to strengthen our governance, risk management, and internal control framework.

Reporting directly to the Board Audit Committee, the successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing organizational effectiveness through the evaluation of business processes, internal controls, and risk management practices and compliance measures.  Adopting a hands-on approach, the incumbent will identify control weaknesses, assess operational risks, and drive sustainable improvements across the organization.

This position is ideal for a seasoned audit professional who demonstrates sound judgment, objectivity, and strong business acumen, and who can challenge existing practices constructively while fostering positive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate operational, financial and compliance controls to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and adherence to policies/SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify control deficiencies, assess risk exposure, and recommend practical mitigation measures.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits, special reviews, investigations and fraud-risk assessments as required.
  • Prepare clear and concise audit reports, including findings, root cause analysis, risk assessments, and recommendations.
  • Recommend corrective actions and process enhancements to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and follow up on mitigation plan to ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Prepare quarterly audit summary reports and present key observations and recommendations to Management and the Board Audit Committee.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, risk awareness, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Internal Audit, Internal Controls, Risk Management, Compliance, or related functions with Manager-level exposure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience gained from listed companies, sizable corporations, audit firms, non-profit organizations, and/or regulated environments will be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • High level of integrity, professional skepticism, and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Candidates seeking a part-time arrangement (e.g. 3 days per week) are also welcome to apply.
