Your opportunity
Internal Change & Communications Lead
Help shape change, communication and employee engagement at DairyNZ.
DairyNZ is looking for an experienced Internal Change & Communications Lead to join our People & Capability team. This is a specialist role focused on supporting successful organisational change, strengthening employee engagement and delivering clear, relevant and engaging internal communications across DairyNZ.
Working closely with leaders, project teams and initiative owners, you will bring a strong employee lens to change. You will help identify people impacts, develop practical change and communication plans, support engagement and adoption, and ensure staff are informed, connected and equipped to contribute to successful outcomes.
About the role
In this role, you will partner across the organisation to design and deliver fit-for-purpose change management, engagement and communication approaches for key initiatives. You will manage DairyNZ’s internal communication channels, create high-quality content, support leaders with key messages and toolkits, and help bring DairyNZ’s work, impact and purpose to life for staff.
You will also contribute to projects and improvements that enhance our processes, culture, capability and ways of working.
Key responsibilities
Develop and deliver change management plans, including impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, communication approaches, readiness activities and adoption support.
Provide practical advice and coaching to leaders, managers and project teams to support effective change planning and delivery.
Plan, write and edit clear, engaging and audience-focused internal communications.
Manage and continuously improve DairyNZ’s internal communication channels.
Develop leader toolkits, briefing materials, FAQs, guidance and other resources to support people through change.
Use communication and engagement insights to understand reach, impact and effectiveness, and improve future activity.
Support People & Capability projects and initiatives that strengthen employee experience, engagement and organisational effectiveness.
About you
You will be a strong communicator and trusted advisor who can build relationships quickly, influence effectively and translate complex information into messages that are clear, practical and meaningful for different audiences. You will be comfortable working across multiple initiatives, balancing detail with the bigger picture, and supporting leaders and teams through change.
To be successful, you will bring experience in change management, internal communications, organisational development or a People & Capability advisory role, along with strong planning, prioritisation and stakeholder engagement skills. A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent workplace experience is essential. Change management certification and group facilitation experience would be advantageous.
Why join DairyNZ?
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to an organisation that exists to support New Zealand dairy farmers. You will work with committed people across the organisation, contribute to initiatives that strengthen how we work, and play a key role in helping our people understand, engage with and successfully adopt change.
If you are passionate about people-centred change, clear communication and engagement, we would love to hear from you.
