Embrace the dynamic retail environment of Shoprite, where innovation meets operational excellence, offering robust career development opportunities, competitive benefits, and the chance to impact millions of colleagues and customers across South Africa and beyond. This role is ideal for a skilled communications traffic specialist passionate about driving internal message efficacy and operational efficiency within a fast-paced corporate setting.
What you'll do
- Manage the intake, logging, and prioritisation of all production briefs from Internal Communications Partners to ensure efficient workflow management.
- Assign and allocate tasks to Content Team members based on resource capacity, skill sets, and project deadlines, ensuring balanced workload distribution.
- Monitor progress against established delivery milestones, proactively identifying and resolving risks, bottlenecks, or scheduling conflicts to maintain timely output.
- Maintain stringent control over workflow processes including managing revisions and changes through a structured and transparent approval system.
- Develop and maintain clear visibility of workload and delivery status through consistent reporting, ensuring communication with relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee and maintain the integrated communications schedule by coordinating with Internal Communications Partners and the Communications Content Lead to balance priorities and timing.
- Apply disciplined workflow governance to ensure all Content Team activities comply with agreed traffic management protocols without compromising content quality or strategy.
- Serve as the key liaison between Internal Communications Partners and the Content Team, facilitating clear and effective communication to align expectations and priorities.
- Ensure escalation pathways are well defined and followed for urgent or business-critical communication requests, enabling timely and efficient resolution.
- Continuously assess capacity and resource utilisation to support sustainable scheduling practices and optimise the production cycle time.
What you bring

- Minimum of five years' experience in traffic management, production or project coordination, workflow management, or communications operations within a fast-paced corporate or creative environment (essential).
- Proven expertise in managing work intake, prioritisation, scheduling, resource allocation, and delivery tracking across multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines (essential).
- Skilled in utilisation of workflow, project management, collaboration, or planning software tools to maintain workload visibility, monitor capacity, track milestones, manage changes, and mitigate delivery risks (essential).
- Experience working closely with communications, content, design, multimedia, or creative production teams, with a solid understanding of production timelines, task dependencies, revision workflows, and approval processes (essential).
- Excellent stakeholder coordination and communication skills, capable of aligning expectations, clarifying priorities, and maintaining transparency throughout the delivery process.
- Strong planning and capacity management abilities, balancing demand, resource availability, skill sets, and deadlines to support achievable scheduling and sustainable workload distribution.
- Demonstrated discipline in workflow governance, maintaining structured intake, prioritisation, sequencing, and revision protocols to safeguard workflow integrity.
- Resilient and organised work ethic, able to perform calmly and accountably under pressure while ensuring accuracy, follow-through, and consistent delivery standards.
