Internal Communication Specialist

We are looking for a Communication Specialist to support employee-facing and HR-related messaging for a Long-term Contract position based in Boston, Massachusetts. This role focuses on creating clear written content, strengthening engagement through effective communication plans, and partnering with key stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong editorial judgment, project coordination skills, and experience using tools such as SharePoint and Smartsheet to keep communication initiatives organized and effective.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver internal and HR communication materials that inform employees and support business objectives.

• Write, revise, and refine content for emails, announcements, intranet updates, and other employee-facing channels.

• Build communication plans that align messaging, timing, and audience needs for ongoing initiatives.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather information, shape messaging, and ensure content accuracy.

• Manage multiple communication projects simultaneously while tracking milestones, deadlines, and deliverables.

• Maintain and update content within SharePoint and use Smartsheet to organize workflows and monitor progress.

• Support employee engagement efforts by creating communications that encourage awareness, participation, and connection across teams.

• 3+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field.

• Demonstrated strength in copywriting, editing, and developing clear, audience-focused messaging.

• Experience creating structured communication plans for employee or HR-related initiatives.

• Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint for publishing or maintaining internal content.

• Working knowledge of Smartsheet or similar project tracking tools.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different departments.
