What they need

What You'll Be Doing

Are you ready to take your EMS career to the next level? Do you thrive in high-pressure environments where leadership, quick thinking and compassion can make a life-saving difference? If you're passionate about guiding teams, improving systems and making a tangible impact every single day, this is your calling! We’re seeking a dedicated, experienced and visionary EMS Supervisor – Field Operations to lead by example, support field personnel and help shape the future of emergency medical services in our community.

Essential Functions:
Provide direct management, supervision and support of daily field staff and incident response in operational and clinical roles

Serve as the first line of supervision in the EMS Department by leading and supporting a team of EMTs and Paramedics as they respond to emergencies

Utilize your excellent interpersonal skills to directly address issues with employees, partners and the public

Play an integral role in managing the EMS System through employee supervision, resource management, complaint and unusual event investigations, and task prioritization

Notes:
At the conclusion of this assessment center, the EMS Department will establish a promotional eligibility list of candidates who have successfully completed the assessment center. This list will be used to fill vacancies in the EMS Supervisor – Field Operations position that occur after the initial selections from this process are made. It will not be used to fill vacancies for any other position.

This list will remain in effect through April 30, 2027. Vacancies occurring after that date will be filled through a new assessment center process.

The Department may end the list before that date if it is exhausted or if operational needs change.

The Department will consider candidates on the list in order of performance in the assessment center process. The Department may conduct an additional interview prior to selection. Placement on the list does not guarantee promotion.

To remain eligible, candidates must continue to meet the position’s minimum qualifications and all county and department requirements at the time of selection. A candidate may be removed from the list if they: separate from county employment; no longer meet minimum qualifications; receive disciplinary action at or above Written Warning; or decline a promotion offer from the list.
