What they need

Are you confident on the phone, highly organised and motivated by turning opportunities into results?

Bend-tech Group is seeking an Internal Sales & Conversion Specialist to join our CDEC Division. This role is responsible for keeping our sales pipeline moving—ensuring every quotation is followed up, every opportunity has a clear next step and no potential sale is lost through silence.

This is not a traditional administration or account management role. It is a proactive, phone-based sales position suited to someone who enjoys speaking with customers, following opportunities through and recovering deals that may otherwise be lost.

About Bend-tech

Bend-tech is a third-generation, family-owned Australian business with more than 40 years of experience designing, engineering and manufacturing innovative solutions.

While we are heavily embedded in the resources sector, our capabilities extend across manufacturing, rail, government, maritime and defence. Our products are designed, engineered and manufactured in-house—and proudly Australian Made.

We are a humble, fast-paced team of practical problem-solvers who genuinely value our people. As our motto suggests, we aim to be “bigger than business.”

Our values guide how we work:

  • Humility
  • Kindness
  • Commitment
  • Teamwork

About the Role

Reporting to the CDEC Commercial Lead, you will take ownership of the quotation lifecycle from issue through to conversion or closure.

You will proactively contact customers, uncover and address barriers to proceeding, maintain an accurate sales pipeline and help provide reliable visibility of expected revenue over the coming months.

A key part of the role is understanding why customers have not proceeded and working with the wider sales team to explore alternative solutions. Rather than simply recording an opportunity as lost, you will look for ways to recover it.

You will also help uphold the CDEC client standard by ensuring every customer receives a fast, professional and proactive response.

Key Responsibilities

Quotation Follow-Up and Sales Conversion

  • Proactively follow up customer quotations by phone and email.
  • Ensure every quotation receives a logged follow-up attempt within six business hours of issue.
  • Complete approximately 20 connected customer calls per day.
  • Confirm whether quotations meet the customer’s requirements and address any questions or concerns.
  • Establish clear decision timeframes and agreed next steps.
  • Monitor overdue follow-ups and ensure no opportunity is overlooked.
  • Re-engage customers who have declined or stopped responding.
  • Understand why opportunities have stalled or been lost and look for ways to recover them.
  • Work with Sales Consultants to explore alternative products, solutions or commercial options.
  • Send quotations on behalf of Sales Consultants when they are onsite or unavailable.

Pipeline and Forecast Management

  • Track each quotation from issue through to conversion, expiry or closure.
  • Maintain accurate quote statuses, anticipated sale dates and probabilities within the CRM.
  • Take ownership of CDEC’s three-to-six-month sales forecast.
  • Ensure the sales pipeline provides reliable visibility of expected revenue.
  • Arrange revised or updated quotations when required.
  • Record clear reasons for lost opportunities and identify recurring trends.

Customer Communication

  • Manage incoming enquiries through the central CDEC inbox.
  • Acknowledge and respond to customer queries promptly.
  • Provide clear and professional communication by phone and email.
  • Liaise with internal departments to confirm feasibility, lead times and special requirements.
  • Ensure customers are kept informed and always understand the next step.

CRM, Reporting and Insights

  • Accurately record customer interactions and follow-up actions within the CRM.
  • Maintain clean and reliable customer and opportunity data.
  • Correct duplicate records, outdated contacts and inaccurate information.
  • Prepare weekly reporting on conversion rates, follow-up compliance, lost-quote trends and forecast accuracy.
  • Share customer feedback and sales insights with the wider commercial team.

About You

You will be confident, persistent and comfortable spending a significant portion of your day speaking with customers. You will enjoy working toward clear targets and take pride in keeping an accurate, well-managed pipeline.

You will bring:

  • Strong and confident phone communication skills.
  • Experience in internal sales, sales support, customer service or a similar customer-facing role.
  • The ability to manage a high volume of calls while maintaining quality conversations.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to follow-up and problem-solving.
  • The confidence to ask questions, handle objections and re-engage stalled opportunities.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and quotation or lead workflows.
  • The ability to maintain accurate records and clearly document next steps.
  • Comfort working toward call, follow-up, conversion and forecast targets.
  • Strong personal accountability and follow-through.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to assist the wider team.

Experience using HubSpot or working within mining, manufacturing, engineering or another technical industry would be advantageous but is not essential.

How Success Will Be Measured

Success in this role will be measured through:

  • Every quotation receiving a recorded follow-up attempt.
  • Quotations being followed up within six business hours.
  • An accurate and well-maintained three-to-six-month sales forecast.
  • Consistent customer engagement, with a target of approximately 20 connected calls per day.
  • Improved quotation conversion and recovery of stalled opportunities.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary plus superannuation.
  • Generous performance incentive linked to role outcomes.
  • Free daily lunches.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • Access to our 24/7 onsite gym.
  • Birthday leave.
  • Monthly team BBQs.
  • The opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing Australian manufacturer.
  • A supportive, values-driven workplace where your contribution is recognised.

Roster: Full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday.

Location: Bend-tech’s head office in Welshpool, Western Australia. This is an onsite position.
