About the Role

Are you a confident, commercially minded individual who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities and winning new business?

At Amari Plastics, we’re looking for a motivated Internal Sales Executive to join our sales team in Southampton. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of customer relationships, develop existing accounts and play an active role in driving profitable sales growth.

This isn’t simply an office-based customer service or administration role. We’re looking for someone who will pick up the phone, build relationships, ask the right questions and proactively identify opportunities to grow our business.

You’ll work closely with our External Sales team, sharing customer insight, identifying opportunities and ensuring we provide a coordinated, commercially effective service to our customers.

If you’re naturally curious, enjoy a challenge and take pride in seeing opportunities through from initial conversation to sale, this could be the role for you.

What You'll Be Doing

Developing Customer Relationships

· Take ownership of a portfolio of customer accounts, building strong, lasting relationships.

· Proactively contact existing customers to understand their needs, identify opportunities and grow their business with us.

· Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities to increase sales across our product range.

· Build customer loyalty, strengthen retention and identify opportunities to re-engage lapsed accounts.

Generating New Business

· Proactively contact prospects and identify opportunities to win new customers.

· Research businesses, understand their markets and identify where our products and services could add value.

· Ask questions, uncover customer requirements and develop opportunities rather than simply responding to incoming enquiries.

· Work with the wider sales team to identify new markets and potential growth areas.

Managing Quotes and Sales Opportunities

· Follow up quotations promptly and professionally, keeping opportunities moving towards a decision.

· Understand why quotations are won or lost and identify ways to improve conversion.

· Agree clear next steps with customers and follow through on commitments.

· Take a commercially minded approach to pricing, profitability and customer value.

Working as One Sales Team

· Work closely with External Sales colleagues to identify opportunities that would benefit from face-to-face customer engagement.

· Provide well-researched leads, useful customer information and clear handovers.

· Share relevant market, competitor and customer insight with colleagues.

· Work with internal departments, including Credit Control and Operations, to resolve issues and support customer outcomes.

Maintaining Good Sales Discipline

· Keep customer records, quotations and opportunities accurate and up to date within our CRM system.

· Manage your time effectively, balancing proactive sales activity with customer requirements and follow-up commitments.

· Take responsibility for your targets, priorities and agreed actions.

· Consider stock availability, credit requirements and other commercial factors when progressing opportunities.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised and motivated by achieving results.

You’ll ideally have:

· Experience in an internal sales, telesales, account management or business development role.

· Confidence in speaking with customers and building relationships over the phone and by email.

· A natural ability to identify sales opportunities and ask questions to understand customer needs.

· A commercial mindset, with an understanding that profitable sales and margin matter just as much as turnover.

· The persistence to follow up quotations, overcome objections and keep opportunities moving.

· Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.

· Good attention to detail and confidence using computer systems and CRM software.

· A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different departments.

Most importantly, we want someone who takes ownership and wants to make a difference. You should be comfortable creating your own sales opportunities rather than waiting for the phone to ring, and motivated to develop both your customers and your own sales skills.

Knowledge of plastics, manufacturing or materials distribution would be advantageous, but we’re also interested in candidates with the right sales ability, attitude and willingness to learn.

GCSEs or equivalent are preferred.

How We'll Measure Success

You’ll have clear commercial objectives, which may vary depending on the accounts and opportunities you manage. Success will be measured through a combination of:

· Sales growth and gross profit performance.

· Development of existing customer accounts.

· New customers and commercial opportunities generated.

· Customer retention and relationship development.

· Quotation follow-up and conversion rates.

· Proactive customer contact and effective pipeline management.

· Accurate CRM records and consistent follow-through.

You’ll be supported in understanding your targets, identifying opportunities and developing the skills needed to succeed.

What's in It for You?

· Competitive salary and annual profit share.

· Company pension scheme.

· 25 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays.

· Ongoing training and development.

· Opportunities for career progression within the business.

· Casual dress.

· Free on-site parking.

· Monday to Friday working pattern, with no weekend working.

Why Join Amari Plastics?

You’ll be part of a team where working together matters, ideas are welcomed and there is an opportunity to make a genuine commercial impact.

If you’re ambitious, enjoy speaking to people and want a role where your initiative and results make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
