Internship - Electrical Engineer

The Perryman Company is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Electrical Engineering intern to join our team in the summer of 2027! The candidate will assist in assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and modifying electrical equipment and systems. This will include maintaining existing equipment and the development of new equipment and processes.

Key Accountabilities

• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot motors, motor controls, switch panels, PLC’s, HMI’s, hydraulic and pneumatic controls. Along with other various electronic controls and systems.
• Modify electrical systems to correct functional deviations.
• Diagnose root cause of electrical failures.
• Develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Perform periodic systems testing.
• Identify potential areas of process improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering team in reviewing data to identify and assess equipment needs and/or efficiencies.

Requirements

• Actively working towards bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation and Controls Engineering, or any other related engineering field.
• Ability to work under supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.

Education

• Some college or better in Electrical Engineering or related field
