The opportunity

Elsyca is seeking for a dynamic and talented student for an immersive internship, strengthening the engineering

capacity at our headquarters office.

The selected intern will have dedicated training to deepen his/her knowledge in the internship topic and will be

exposed to a variety of other application domains where Elsyca is active.

Internship topic

Elsyca has been performing electrochemical computer simulation to verify and optimize the performance of

electroplating baths and plating configurations for over 25 years.

A major factor in electroplating simulations accuracy is the electrolyte characterization. This is a time consuming

task where electrolyte samples are characterized using electrochemical research technics to translate their

performance as software input.

The objective is to develop a prototype unit that can run a sequence of steps to gather the input data

automatically.

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the engineering team and is expected to:

• Design and construct experimental setup to investigate automatic electrolyte characterization,

• Perform laboratorial experiments complying to safety and laboratory good-practices,

• Post-process lab data, interpreting results and proposing next experiments,

• Learn about electroplating to better design the test setup and interpret results,

• Presenting findings to the team, discuss the obtain results and next steps,

About you

Ideally, you will:

• Be a BS or MS student in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related chemistry related degree,

• Have strong base and practical experience of general chemistry laboratorial techniques,

• Be comfortable with laboratorial setups, including constructing/assembling test setups,

• Have a critical and analytical mind,

• Be handy and have excellent problem-solving skills,

• Be fluent in English (spoken and written),

• Have good communications skills and demonstrate good attention to detail,

• Be a fast learner and eager to learn new skills,

• Be able to work independently and as part of a team,

Preferably you will show additionally:

• Electrochemical knowledge of electrodeposition, cathodic protection and corrosion,
