Internship - Engineer

About the role

We are seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals to join SKS (S.Kian Seng Sdn Bhd) as an Internship Engineer in our Mechanical Engineering department. This is a full-time internship opportunity based in Subang Jaya, Selangor, providing you with valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment. As an Internship Engineer, you will work alongside experienced professionals to develop practical skills, contribute to real engineering projects, and gain insight into the mechanical engineering industry. This role is an excellent stepping stone for those pursuing a career in mechanical engineering, offering mentorship and exposure to contemporary engineering practices and technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, analysis, and development of mechanical components and systems under the guidance of senior engineers
• Conduct research and gather technical data to support engineering projects and design initiatives
• Participate in the creation and review of technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD software
• Support the testing and quality assurance processes to ensure products meet required standards and specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement solutions
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports and project documentation
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems
• Participate in site visits and inspections as required to understand real-world engineering applications
• Support senior engineers in project planning and execution activities

What we're looking for

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
• Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, mechanics, and materials science
• Proficiency or willingness to learn CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical work
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and take direction from senior staff
• Keen interest in mechanical engineering and industrial applications
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
• Preferably some experience with mechanical design, manufacturing processes, or industrial projects through previous internships or academic projects
