INTERNSHIP - PROCESS ENGINEERING ASSISTANT

About the role

This is an internship position supporting process engineering activities in a manufacturing environment. You will assist the Process Engineer in monitoring raw materials, glue consumption, quality control, production planning, and environmental compliance across multiple operational areas.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring raw materials used in glue-side production and glue consumption for all machines
• Assist in calculating glue formulation and pigment ratios
• Assist in monitoring toluene consumption and colour pigment usage
• Assist in checking glue balance levels in IBC containers and maintaining raw material usage records
• Assist QAC team in GSM, dyne and moisture compliance testing
• Assist in inspecting and monitoring colour sample quality
• Record and update short-length production issues and assist in investigating production non-conformities
• Assist in planning and coordinating duties during machine shutdown periods and collect production downtime data
• Assist in preparing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and monitoring operators' compliance
• Assist in monitoring wastewater collection, discharge conditions and recycled wastewater usage

About you

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of production processes, chemical handling and manufacturing operations
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with good documentation and record-keeping skills
• Willing to learn and able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Proactive, responsible and willing to work in a manufacturing environment
• Able to commit to an internship period of at least 6 months
• Basic understanding of chemical mixing, glue formulation or raw material consumption (preferred)
• Preference will be given to candidates who are interested in pursuing a permanent career with the company upon completion of their internship.
