Position Summary

Sunway Healthcare Group (SHG) is seeking a motivated, analytical, and passionate Sustainability Intern to join our Sustainability team. This internship offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate sustainability, ESG reporting, greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, climate-related disclosures, and sustainability data management within one of Malaysia's leading healthcare groups.

The intern will work closely with the Head of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability and collaborate with various business units and functional departments across the Group to support the implementation of SHG's sustainability strategy and initiatives. You will gain practical exposure to sustainability reporting aligned with Bursa Malaysia's sustainability reporting requirements and the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1 & S2), while contributing to meaningful projects that support SHG's environmental and social commitments.

This internship is ideal for students who are passionate about sustainability, enjoy working with data, and aspire to build a career in ESG, sustainability, climate change, risk management or corporate strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the collection, compilation, validation, and analysis of sustainability data across the Group to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Assist in the calculation, monitoring, and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions.
• Consolidate ESG performance data from various departments, including energy, water, waste, procurement, human resources, and community investment.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improving sustainability performance.
• Assist in preparing sustainability reports, management presentations, dashboards, and Board reporting materials.
• Support the preparation of disclosures in accordance with Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting Requirements and IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1 & S2).
• Assist in tracking sustainability targets, key performance indicators (KPIs), and progress of sustainability initiatives across the Group.
• Support carbon footprint analysis and identify opportunities for emissions reduction and operational efficiency.
• Assist in research on sustainability trends, ESG regulations, healthcare sustainability practices, and emerging climate-related issues.
• Support the implementation of sustainability programmes and awareness initiatives across SHG.
• Perform administrative and ad hoc assignments related to sustainability projects as required.

Qualifications

Candidates should currently be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in one of the following (or related disciplines):

• Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Climate Change, Environmental Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Actuarial Science

Preferred Skills & Competencies

• Interest in sustainability and ESG.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and organised.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Canva is a plus.
• Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work independently.
• Able to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
• Professional and able to maintain confidentiality.

Internship Duration: Minimum 10 weeks, preferably from October 2026 onward (longer internships are preferred).
