Internship to Civil & Structure Engineer

About the role

KH CONSULTANTS PLT is seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals for an Internship to Civil & Structural Engineer position based in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time internship opportunity designed to provide practical experience in civil and structural engineering, offering you the chance to work on real projects whilst developing professional skills under the mentorship of experienced engineers. This role is an excellent stepping stone for aspiring engineers looking to launch their careers in the civil and structural engineering sector.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting senior engineers in the design and analysis of structural systems and components
• Conducting site inspections and surveys to gather data for engineering assessments
• Preparing technical drawings, specifications and documentation using CAD software and other engineering tools
• Supporting the development of engineering calculations and structural models under supervision
• Participating in project meetings and contributing to problem-solving discussions
• Assisting with the preparation of reports, proposals and project documentation
• Learning and applying construction codes, standards and best practices relevant to civil and structural engineering
• Supporting the coordination between different project teams and stakeholders
• Performing research on engineering materials, construction methods and emerging technologies
• Assisting with quality assurance and quality control activities on projects

What we're looking for

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline
• Proficiency in engineering software, including CAD programmes such as AutoCAD, Revit or similar applications
• Strong understanding of structural analysis principles, design codes and construction practices
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical work
• Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and data management systems
• Knowledge of engineering standards such as BS, Eurocode or local Malaysian building codes (preferred)
• Previous internship or practical experience in civil or structural engineering (advantageous)
