INTERNSHIP TRAINEE - FREIGHT FORWARDING & LOGISTICS

Job Summary

The Internship Trainee – Freight Forwarding / Logistics will support daily logistics and freight forwarding operations while gaining hands-on experience in international shipping, supply chain coordination, documentation, and customer service. This role is designed to provide practical exposure to air, sea, and land freight operations in a professional logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities Operations Support

• Assist in coordinating import and export shipments (air, sea, and land freight)
• Support booking of cargo with carriers, airlines, and transport providers
• Track shipments and update internal systems and customers on shipment status

Documentation & Compliance

Assist in preparing and checking shipping documents such as:

• Air Waybills (AWB)
• Bills of Lading (BL)
• Commercial Invoices
• Packing Lists
• Support customs clearance documentation and compliance procedures
• Maintain accurate shipment and filing records

Customer & Vendor Coordination

• Communicate with customers regarding shipment updates and requirements
• Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and etc.
• Respond to basic customer inquiries under supervision

Administrative Support

• Data entry and maintenance of logistics systems and spreadsheets
• Assist in cost calculations, quotations, and invoices
• Support the operations team with general administrative tasks

Learning & Development

• Gain exposure to freight forwarding processes and logistics workflows
• Learn about international trade terms (Incoterms), customs procedures, and supply chain operations
• Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning activities

Requirements & Qualifications Education

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in:
• Logistics
• Supply Chain Management
• International Business
• Business Administration or related field

Skills & Competencies

• Basic understanding of logistics or supply chain concepts (preferred)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, email)

• Proactive and eager to learn
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude

Allowance

You will be paid a monthly internship allowance of RM500.00 subject to satisfactory attendance and performance.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday , 08:30am - 06:00pm

The intern will be assigned to Cargomind Headquarters, Setia Alam, for the duration of the internship.
