About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Internship Account to join our accounting team in Alor Setar, Kedah. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in bookkeeping and small practice accounting. As an Internship Account, you will work alongside experienced accounting professionals, supporting the delivery of quality accounting services to our diverse client base. This role is integral to your professional development and will provide you with practical exposure to real-world accounting practices and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the recording of transactions, invoices, receipts and other financial documents in accounting software systems

• Helping to reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts with accounting records

• Supporting the completion of bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

• Learning and applying accounting principles, standards and best practices relevant to small business accounting

• Supporting the preparation of tax compliance documentation and assisting with filing requirements

• Performing general administrative tasks to support the accounting team's operations

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed an accounting, finance or related tertiary qualification
• Strong foundational knowledge of bookkeeping principles, accounting concepts and financial record-keeping
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software packages
• Excellent attention to detail with strong numeracy skills and accuracy in data entry
• Good organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Malay
• A proactive, keen attitude to learning and professional development
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Reliability and commitment to meeting deadlines
• Preferably, previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, or completion of relevant accounting modules or certifications
