What they need
About Hope Above Fear
Hope Above Fear is a nonprofit organization serving youth and families throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties through prevention, early intervention, youth engagement, and connection to community support.
We believe prevention begins with connection—and that early intervention can change the direction of a young person's story before challenges become crises.
The Opportunity
Hope Above Fear is seeking an Intervention Coordinator to lead the day-to-day implementation of RESET, our structured early-intervention program for adolescents, while providing individualized support and resource navigation for participating youth and families.
This is a relationship-centered position that requires someone who is equally comfortable connecting with teenagers, communicating with parents, coordinating with community partners, and keeping detailed documentation organized and current.
The Intervention Coordinator will support youth and families from initial referral through program completion. This includes conducting intakes, facilitating RESET sessions, monitoring attendance and progress, communicating with referral partners, identifying additional needs, coordinating connections to community resources, and maintaining accurate program records.
We are looking for someone who can build genuine relationships with young people while maintaining clear boundaries, consistency, and accountability—and who can eventually take full ownership of the day-to-day coordination of the program.

What You'll Do
- Coordinate RESET & Support Youth and Families
- Serve as the primary staff coordinator for Hope Above Fear's RESET early-intervention program.
- Conduct participant intakes and orientations with youth and parents/guardians.
- Prepare for and participate in all regularly scheduled RESET sessions.
- Build meaningful, appropriate relationships with participating teens while maintaining consistency, accountability, and professional boundaries.
- Communicate with youth and parents/guardians regarding enrollment, schedules, attendance, expectations, progress, and program completion.
- Monitor participant attendance, engagement, progress, and completion requirements.
- Prepare session materials, activities, supplies, and the program environment.
- Coordinate program graduation requirements and completion activities.
- Maintain accurate participant information, attendance records, session notes, progress documentation, and completion records.
- Identify participant concerns, emerging needs, or barriers and communicate them appropriately.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow organizational requirements for working with minors and families.
- Track referrals, enrollment, attendance, completion, and program outcomes.
- Maintain designated organizational spreadsheets, records, and data systems.
- Assist with community outreach and organizational initiatives as assigned.
- Provide second-staff coverage for designated Hope Above Fear youth programs when needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, program planning, and relevant training.
- Help maintain Hope House as an organized, welcoming, safe, and program-ready environment.
Connect Youth and Families to Support
- Identify needs that may extend beyond the scope of RESET and help families navigate appropriate community resources.
- Provide referrals and warm connections to behavioral health, family support, education, and other community-based services when appropriate.
- Develop working knowledge of resources available to youth and families throughout the community.
- Maintain communication with authorized referral partners, including schools, juvenile justice partners, and other community organizations.
- Help reduce barriers between families and the services available to support them.
- Participate in relevant community or multi-agency meetings as a representative of Hope Above Fear.
Schedule
The role combines required program hours with flexible time for intakes, documentation, parent communication, referrals, program preparation, meetings, and outreach responsibilities.
Required RESET programming currently includes:
- Tuesday: approximately 3:30–6:30 PM
- Wednesday: approximately 3:30–8:00 PM
- Thursday: approximately 3:30–6:30 PM
Additional evening or weekend availability may be required for youth programs, community outreach, meetings, or organizational events.
Required:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, education, public health, criminal justice, or a related field.
- Professional experience working with adolescents and/or families in human services, behavioral health, education, juvenile justice, prevention, case management, mentoring, or a related setting.
- Ability to build rapport with teenagers while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, documentation, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
- Comfort communicating with parents/guardians, schools, referral partners, and community organizations.
- Ability to maintain confidential participant information.
- Basic proficiency with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Forms, Gmail, and Calendar.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally as needed.
- Ability to work the required evening schedule and occasional weekends.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
Preferred:
- Previous experience working in a therapeutic setting, secondary education, case management, youth behavioral health, or teaching at the middle or high school level, or family support.
- Experience facilitating groups or structured programming with adolescents.
- Knowledge of youth and family resources available in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.
- Experience working in a collaborative setting.
You'll Be Successful in This Role If...
You take ownership. Once you understand a responsibility, you can manage it from beginning to end without needing repeated reminders.
You listen without judgment. You believe young people's voices and experiences matter—even when their choices or experiences are different from your own. You create space for teens to talk honestly, ask questions, and express what they are experiencing without fear of being judged, lectured, or defined by a mistake. You help them develop healthy coping skills, recognize their strengths, explore different choices, and determine what moving forward can look like for them.
You see the young person, not the referral. RESET may begin because of a referral, substance use, a school incident, or a difficult decision—but that is not the entirety of who a young person is. You recognize their strengths, interests, goals, and potential and help them see those things in themselves.
You notice the details. Attendance, documentation, parent communication, follow-up, deadlines, and reporting don't fall through the cracks.
***You're comfortable with both people and paperwork.***You can spend part of your day updating participant records and then confidently facilitate a group of teenagers that evening.
You communicate early. When a concern arises, a deadline may be missed, or you need additional support, you communicate rather than allowing the issue to grow.
You're adaptable. Hope Above Fear is a growing nonprofit. Programs evolve, schedules occasionally change, and staff sometimes need to step into another program or community activity.
You believe relationships matter. You understand that meaningful early intervention isn't simply completing a curriculum. Consistency, connection, trust, and showing up for young people are an important part of the work.
Compensation
New employees begin with a 30-day introductory period at $24.00 per hour. Upon successful completion, the position transitions to a competitive salaried compensation structure based on a 30-hour workweek. Salary details will be discussed with candidates during the interview process.
