Interventional Technologist

Summary:

Under the general direction of the Radiology Manager and the supervision of the Lead IR Technologist, performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. The Interventional Technologist (IR Tech) will be a Diagnostic Technologist which is cross trained in Interventional Radiology. Assumes responsibility for designated areas as assigned. The Technologist operates X-ray equipment, prepares patient’s room, equipment, supplies, and contrast media. The Tech will be responsible for charging supplies and Current Procedural Terminology codes. The Interventional Technologist supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of facility and the Radiology Department.

Minimum:

Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services, State of California (CRT)

Current CPR certification

ARRT and Fluoroscopy permit.

Desired:

ARRT Advanced Level Interventional Certification (Cardiovascular Interventional Technology)
