Inventor Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Autodesk Inventor Mechanical Designer to join our offshore design engineering team.

The designer will develop detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, sheet metal assemblies, and engineering documentation for Power Distribution Centers (PDC), Power Equipment Centers (PEC), switchgear containers, and modular E-Houses. The role requires close coordination with U.S.-based engineering teams to deliver high-quality engineering packages for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
• Design sheet metal enclosures, structural frames, Containers, mounting plates, equipment supports, and cable management systems.
• Prepare fabrication drawings, GA drawings, assembly drawings, installation drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Create detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and manufacturing part lists.
• Design modular containerized electrical buildings (PDC, PEC, E-House).
• Perform equipment layout and optimize space utilization inside electrical containers.
• Develop weldment assemblies and sheet metal flat patterns.
• Ensure compliance with fabrication standards and company drafting standards.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Structural, Manufacturing, and Project Engineering teams.
• Participate in design reviews and implement engineering changes.
• Support prototype builds and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
• Follow North American engineering standards and customer specifications.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Production Engineering
• Industrial Engineering

Desired Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have:

• 10-12 years of Autodesk Inventor experience
• Strong sheet metal design experience
• Experience with fabricated steel structures
• Experience with large mechanical assemblies
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes
• Excellent drawing interpretation skills
• Ability to work independently
• Good English communication skills
• Experience working with U.S. engineering teams is preferred

Good to Have

• Autodesk Inventor Professional Certification
• Autodesk Vault
• Experience with modular buildings
• Knowledge of UL/NEMA enclosure concepts
