Inventory and Store controller

Key Responsibilities

1. Import & Customs

• Coordinate inbound shipments to ensure materials are received promptly after vessel arrival, including containerized and non-containerized cargo, while minimizing DEM & DET charges.
• Prepare import entry documents and coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers for customs clearance.
• Manage import tariffs, customs-related matters, and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Follow up on cargo damage claims and coordinate with shipping lines and relevant parties to resolve issues.
• Create Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up on approval processes related to import activities.
• Schedule and monitor invoice processing and billing cycles related to import activities.
• Prepare and reconcile petty cash reimbursements related to import operations.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on import activities.

2. Inventory Control & SAP

• Ensure end-to-end inventory accuracy between physical stock and the SAP system across all locations.
• Define and enforce inventory control procedures and ensure proper inventory management practices.
• Lead and coordinate cycle count programs, including daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end stock counts.
• Monitor and control stock discrepancies, shrinkage, and inventory adjustment postings.
• Ensure strict adherence to FIFO/FEFO principles where applicable.
• Oversee inventory transactions in SAP, including GR, GI, transfer postings, and adjustments.
• Ensure all stock movements are accurately and timely recorded in SAP.
• Validate and control key SAP inventory processes, such as MIGO, MB1A, MB1B, MI01, MI04, and MI07.
• Troubleshoot SAP-related inventory issues and coordinate with the IT/SAP team for resolution.
• Ensure proper inventory master data setup, including material master, storage locations, and batch control.
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliation between SAP records and physical stock.
• Investigate inventory variances and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) with appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure all inventory adjustments are properly justified, approved, and documented.
• Work closely with Finance on inventory valuation, month-end, and year-end closing activities.

3. Warehouse & Store Operations

• Manage daily warehouse and store activities, including receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch.
• Monitor and ensure accurate stock movements between warehouse locations and departments.
• Optimize warehouse layout and storage utilization to improve efficiency and inventory accessibility.
• Ensure proper handling, identification, storage, and control of materials and products.
• Ensure compliance with company requirements for safety, quality, 5S, and warehouse standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and cost control.
