About the role

The Inventory and Supply Chain Manager is a newly created leadership role established in response to AROTEC Diagnostics' planned growth and future operational requirements. The position will lead, develop and continuously improve the company's inventory management, supply chain, inwards goods, outwards goods, packaging and material flow functions, helping the business scale effectively while maintaining high standards of quality, service, traceability and operational performance. The role is responsible for ensuring raw materials, consumables, packaging components and finished goods are managed accurately and efficiently within a specialist medical diagnostics manufacturing environment. Key priorities include supporting production continuity and customer fulfilment, strengthening supplier performance, applying continuous improvement and LEAN principles, maintaining quality and regulatory compliance, and providing leadership and support to relevant staff. Practical scientific understanding, particularly in relation to biochemistry, and effective collaboration across departments are important to the role.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor inventory, procurement, warehousing, logistics and distribution strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
• Manage accurate and traceable inventory control across raw materials, consumables, packaging components, intermediates and finished goods.
• Monitor inventory levels, oversee cycle counts and reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and address shortage, obsolescence and expiry risks.
• Oversee the receipt, verification, controlled storage, movement, packaging, labelling and distribution of materials and finished goods.
• Ensure finished goods and customer orders are prepared, documented and dispatched accurately and on time, including compliance with customer, quality and export requirements.
• Lead procurement planning and manage relationships with suppliers, freight providers and logistics partners to support continuity of supply and reliable service performance.
• Monitor supplier quality, pricing, responsiveness and service delivery, and implement improvement initiatives or corrective action where required.
• Lead continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives to reduce waste, improve material flow, standardise processes and strengthen operational and customer service performance.
• Apply practical scientific knowledge to protect product integrity, traceability, stability and quality, while ensuring activities comply with AROTEC's quality management system.
• Lead, coach and develop employees within the inventory and supply chain function, and collaborate across Production, Quality, Sales, Accounting and Management to resolve operational issues.

About you

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences or related discipline; OR
• At least 5 years' relevant experience in supply chain management, procurement, inventory management, logistics, manufacturing operations or related fields.
