About Emissions Group, Inc.
Emissions Group, Inc. operates in the power-generation industry, specializing in gas turbine capital parts and related components. We support customers with accurately identified, documented, stored, and delivered turbine parts for maintenance, repair, and outage requirements.
Position Summary
Emissions Group, Inc. is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Inventory Assistant Manager to support the daily control of our gas turbine parts inventory.
This is a hands-on position divided between office and warehouse responsibilities. The Inventory Assistant Manager will assist with the complete inventory process, including receiving, inspection coordination, part identification, documentation, system entry, labeling, storage, preservation, cycle counting, order fulfillment, and shipping.
Because gas turbine capital parts are high-value and often serialized or configuration-specific, accuracy, traceability, condition control, and proper handling are essential. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with detailed technical information, maintaining accurate electronic records, and physically handling or coordinating the movement of industrial components.
Primary ResponsibilitiesIncoming Inventory and Receiving
- Coordinate and process incoming gas turbine parts, repaired components, purchased inventory, customer returns, and transferred materials.
- Receive shipments and compare the delivered material against purchase orders, packing lists, bills of lading, and other supporting documents.
- Verify part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, descriptions, manufacturers, turbine models, and other identifying information.
- Inspect incoming packaging and parts for visible damage, corrosion, contamination, missing items, or shipping-related concerns.
- Photograph parts, identification markings, serial numbers, packaging, and visible condition at the time of receipt.
- Record discrepancies and immediately communicate shortages, overages, incorrect parts, damaged material, or incomplete documentation.
- Place questionable or nonconforming material in a designated quarantine area until it is reviewed and released by authorized personnel.
- Coordinate technical or quality inspections when a part’s identity, condition, or documentation requires additional review.
Part Identification and Traceability
- Maintain accurate traceability for gas turbine components throughout the entire inventory process.
- Verify and record applicable information, including:
- OEM and alternate part numbers
- Serial numbers
- Component descriptions
- Gas turbine manufacturer and model
- New, repaired, refurbished, serviceable, or as-removed condition
- Repair history and service documentation, when available
- Purchase order and vendor information
- Date received
- Quantity and unit of measure
- Warehouse location
- Ownership or consignment status
- Inspection or certification status
- Ensure physical identification markings agree with inventory-system records and supporting documentation.
- Maintain clear separation between parts with different conditions, ownership, inspection status, or customer allocation.
- Protect certificates, inspection reports, repair documents, photographs, and other records associated with each component.
Inventory-System Management
- Enter new inventory into the company’s inventory-management or ERP system accurately and promptly.
- Update part locations, quantities, descriptions, condition codes, serial numbers, costs, allocations, and status changes.
- Attach or organize relevant photographs and supporting documentation within the appropriate electronic or physical file.
- Review inventory records for incomplete, inconsistent, or duplicate information.
- Assist with correcting inventory discrepancies while maintaining a clear record of approved adjustments.
- Prepare inventory reports for management, sales, purchasing, accounting, and operations.
- Maintain spreadsheets and reports used to track available, incoming, allocated, quarantined, and sold inventory.
Labeling, Storage, and Preservation
- Create and apply accurate inventory labels, barcodes, tags, or other identification materials.
- Assign warehouse locations based on part size, weight, condition, value, ownership, and handling requirements.
- Ensure each component can be physically located and matched to its system record and documentation.
- Store parts in a manner that prevents damage, corrosion, contamination, foreign-object debris, or loss of identification.
- Maintain protective caps, covers, wrapping, crating, and preservation materials as appropriate.
- Coordinate the safe movement of large or heavy components using forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, or other approved equipment.
- Ensure only properly trained and authorized personnel operate material-handling equipment.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and clearly marked inventory, staging, quarantine, and shipping areas.
Inventory Accuracy and Cycle Counts
- Perform scheduled cycle counts and assist with periodic full physical inventories.
- Compare physical quantities, serial numbers, part locations, and condition statuses against system records.
- Research discrepancies by reviewing receiving records, transfers, sales orders, shipping documents, and adjustment history.
- Report unresolved discrepancies to management and assist with corrective actions.
- Help monitor inventory accuracy and identify recurring process issues.
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard procedures for receiving, labeling, storing, counting, allocating, and shipping inventory.
Sales-Order Fulfillment and Outbound Shipping
- Review pick tickets, sales orders, and shipping instructions before selecting inventory.
- Confirm that the correct part number, serial number, condition, quantity, and documentation are selected for each order.
- Verify that selected parts match the customer’s order and approved inventory allocation.
- Stage outgoing components in the designated shipping area.
- Photograph parts and identification markings before packaging when required.
- Ensure supporting documentation, certifications, inspection reports, and packing lists are included or transmitted as instructed.
- Coordinate proper packaging, crating, preservation, and protection for domestic and international shipments.
- Assist with freight quotes, carrier scheduling, bills of lading, shipment tracking, and delivery follow-up.
- Complete a final outbound verification before inventory leaves the facility.
- Update the inventory system promptly after shipment to maintain accurate on-hand quantities and serial-number records.
Returns, Repairs, and Transfers
- Process returned, rejected, transferred, or repair-cycle components.
- Confirm the identity and condition of returned material before it is placed back into available inventory.
- Maintain separation between available inventory and parts awaiting inspection, repair, documentation, or management review.
- Track parts sent to and returned from repair vendors.
- Verify that repair documentation and certifications are received and matched to the correct serialized component.
- Update inventory condition and status only after receiving proper authorization.
Team and Operational Support
- Assist the Inventory Manager with organizing daily warehouse priorities and assigning inventory-related tasks.
- Help train employees on inventory procedures, documentation standards, part handling, and warehouse safety.
- Coordinate with sales, purchasing, accounting, logistics, quality, and management to resolve inventory questions.
- Communicate professionally with vendors, freight carriers, repair facilities, and customers when required.
- Support time-sensitive customer requirements and power-plant outage shipments.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding company inventory, pricing, suppliers, customers, and transactions.
- Perform additional office, inventory, and warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or relevant technical education. Bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, industrial parts, shipping and receiving, logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with gas turbine, power-generation, aviation, oil and gas, rotating equipment, or other high-value industrial components is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with gas turbine part numbers, serial-number tracking, component conditions, and technical documentation is a plus.
- Experience with inventory-management, warehouse-management, or ERP software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and standard office software.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Ability to read purchase orders, packing lists, part markings, sales orders, shipping documents, and technical records.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete time-sensitive assignments.
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently.
- Supervisory, team-lead, or employee-training experience is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record preferred.
- Forklift or material-handling experience is preferred; training may be provided.
Physical and Work Requirements
- Ability to work in both an office and warehouse environment.
- Ability to sit and perform computer work for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout the warehouse.
- Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to assist with the movement of heavier components using appropriate equipment and team-lifting procedures.
- Ability to work around industrial equipment and in warehouse conditions that may include varying temperatures, dust, noise, and moving machinery.
- Ability to follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate understands that accurate inventory management involves more than counting parts. Gas turbine components can be high-value, serialized, configuration-specific, and required for time-sensitive power-plant outages. This person will take ownership of the inventory process, carefully verify details, maintain complete records, protect component traceability, and communicate concerns before they become larger problems.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, accountable, organized, and willing to assist wherever needed to ensure that every part is properly received, identified, documented, stored, located, and shipped.

- 50% employee only health insurance
