Job Description Based in Dallas, Texas, the Inventory Buyer / Planner will take full ownership of inventory replenishment, special order fulfillment, and drop-ship procurement operations. This role demands an autonomous professional who will manage daily stock levels across multiple branch locations, execute high-volume supplier transactions, and drive vendor accountability. The successful candidate will ensure maximum product availability while maintaining strict cost control and optimal inventory turns

What You'll Bring

• 3 to 5+ years of direct experience handling stock replenishment, special orders, and drop-ship purchasing within a distribution or industrial wholesale environment.
• Intermediate to advanced mastery of Microsoft Excel (data lookup formulas, tracking matrices, and financial math).
• Direct experience utilizing an ERP inventory management platform.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on professionalism
• Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task
• Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.

What You'll Do

• Stock Replenishment & Core Procurement
• Own the full stock replenishment lifecycle for core product lines, maintaining optimal safety stock and maximizing inventory turns across all branches.
• Analyze inventory data and demand trends to execute weekly stock replenishment orders, adjusting reorder points based on seasonal variance and vendor lead times.
• Review purchase order acknowledgments for strict pricing, freight terms, and delivery date compliance.
• Audit and manage price books, implementing vendor price increases while identifying and communicating margin impacts on field operations.
• Research and permanently resolve invoice and purchase order price variances in tight coordination with the accounting team.
• Special Order & Drop Ship Management
• Execute precision purchasing for customer-specific special orders, verifying exact manufacturer configurations and strict lead-time requirements.
• Manage the end-to-end drop ship procurement process, coordinating directly with manufacturers to ensure direct-to-customer shipments arrive accurately and on schedule.
• Proactively track, review, and expedite past due open purchase orders, minimizing order cycle times for critical customer requests.
