What they need
- Inventory Level and Budget Control: Monitor raw materials, work in process, and finished products against approved budget, inventory plan, and predetermined stock levels.
- Cycle Count Management: Establish and coordinate cyclical counting schedules, recounts, documentation, and follow-up by item, location, movement, value, and risk.
- Inventory Reconciliation: Reconcile physical inventory against ERP or system records, investigate variances, identify root causes, and coordinate approved adjustments.
- Transaction Control: Review the completeness and timeliness of receipts, issues, transfers, returns, consumption postings, production declarations, and stock adjustments.
- Inventory Risk Control: Identify shortage, excess, slow-moving, non-moving, damaged, expired, and obsolete stock and coordinate recovery or disposition plans.
- Customer Forecast Management: Consolidate and maintain customer forecasts as inputs for inventory, material, and factory planning.
- Customer PO Alignment: Review customer purchase orders against the latest forecast and identify material deviations requiring follow-up.
- Forecast Accuracy Review: Measure and review forecast accuracy by customer and analyze forecast versus actual sales or usage.
- Inventory versus Actual Sales Review: Analyze inventory position against actual sales or consumption to support stock-level control and adjustment
- Demand Planning Support: Provide demand information to factory planners and Purchasing for material increases, decreases, and timing adjustments.
- Customer Communication: Coordinate with authorized customer-facing functions regarding significant forecast increases, decreases, or inconsistencies.
- Production Schedule Alignment: Review customer POs and inventory requirements against the production schedule and escalate misalignment.
- Production Priority Advice: Recommend production priorities to planners based on customer demand, inventory risk, material availability, and approved operational priorities.
- Inventory Reporting: Prepare inventory accuracy, variance, aging, stock-level, adjustment, cycle-count, forecast, and PO-alignment reports.
